Tenovate Cream containing the active ingredient Clobetasol Propionate is considered a topical corticosteroid type of medication. It works by reducing the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness and itching. The cream can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash and psoriasis.

Tenovate Cream should be applied topically 1 to 2 times per day or as directed by a doctor. Wash your hands and the affected area thoroughly with soap and water before applying the cream. To apply the medication, rub a thin film of the medication on the affected area and gently massage. Try to not cover, bandage or wrap the area unless directed to do so by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy.

Tenovate Cream may cause unwanted side effects such as: burning, stinging, itching, dryness or redness at application site; discoloration of skin; stretch marks; thinning of the skin; excessive hair growth; weight loss; headaches; vision problems.

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen. Do not use the medication on the face, groin or underarms unless directed to do so by a doctor.

Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Tenovate Cream is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.

The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
